LOVE.FOR.FASHION.FRIDAYS

4 THINGS TO KEEP IN YOUR CLOSET  for 2012
As we bring in the new year, we will be throwing out old clothes,
But there are some items in your closet that you won’t want to toss out.
1) YOUR LITTLE RED DRESS.
It matches those red lips, and looks good just about anywhere.
2) Your mothers old clothes.
From Peter Pan collars to short, bright dresses, this fun unique style is sure to stay a while.
3) That Tuxedo Jacket you wore to your last interview? Keep it.
It’s true, the Tuxedo Jacket has been around for over 100 years! It’s an easy way to dress up any outfit. Pair it with a dress and roll up the sleeves for a quick, and trendy, business look!

4) The High-Waitsed skirt.
It’s classy, it’s cute, and it’s not going anywhere. So hike it up and get used to it!

This Christmas

This Christ-mas, let us not forget Christ, our brother. Who came into this world so that man might live. He gave unto others, just as we will do this Christmas. Let us pray for those who need him especially close at this time. Let us teach, serve, and love, just as he does. And may we be there for others, as he is for us.
No Him
Know Him
Let our light shine as brightly as the star that night.

Merry Christmas.

Mr. Sick

I've been sick. And it’s not your normal sick!
I don’t know how to tell him, but we're just not hitting it off.

Mr. Sick, you gotta go.

So what’s a girl to do when sick, if not blog,  sew some reversible pj’s, and quilt??

Christmas times a comin'

Can you believe it's almost Christmas?? I love it. And I especially love it, because I will be going home with my guy for the Holidays.
I love Christmas at my parents house. So many fun times growing up there.
It's a farm house in the country, located in the smallest town ever, and I love it :)
Every Christmas, my parents would have Raffi and John Denver playing, with some Mannheimsteamroller on the side. We have our awesome family traditions, and over the years the family has grown! So it's extra fun with all the nieces and nephews running around. I can't wait to see all of them. One of my sisters live far away, so I don't get to see her or her kids enough. My Mom always puts so much time and love into each Christmas, to make each one special and perfect.
I hope you guys have a fun Holiday with yummy food, games, and awesome family.

Merry Christmas!

A little Christmas playlist:
Raffi of course!
Can someone say, Christmas for cowboys?   ...without laughing? i love this song.An all time Raffi favorite.
And who doesn't love Aspenglow?
A classic by Raffi. I love it, I called my sister the other day on Skype, and when she answered she was sitting there with two of her girls on her lap singing this song with them. I had to join in!
And of course listen to, Petite Papa Noel!

My sister sent me this picture this morning, of Ella. I'm so excited to see her again! Those kids are growing up too quickly! I hate living so far away.

Get me that plane ticket, I'm on my way!

Dear Mike,
Can we please live on the beach? Seriously. Can we move there?
I would be so happy all the time with that delicious ocean smell.
My hair would be awesome, and my skin would be so soft!
I would be healthy and my allergies wouldn't be so bad.
We could have bonfires with friends...
and lay on the sand together, letting the waves roll over our feet!
I could bury you in the sand and make you look silly,
and we could go on walks on the board walk every single day!
We would sleep with the windows open and look at the moon through our blowing bedroom curtains.
We could raise our future little lemons on the beach. Try to tell me that doesn't sound fun :)
We would feel so delightful with the sweet sunshine, our skin would just glow!

Remember when we were at the beach that time?? Don't you want to go back??
I now you doooo!

GROW HAIR! GOOOOOOW!

I’m trying every trick in the book.
Mike thinks I’m crazy and makes fun of me. He tried to convince me that doing a stupid dance also makes my hair grow faster. Dork. No it doesn’t.
I do think some things can help though, I’m going to do some of these and maybe they’ll  work! They could be just what I’ve been looking for to get my hair long again!

If my hair grows 1″ a month, then by JULY my hair can be back to the length it was when I cut it! Ok, that is depressing. But hey, at least it’ll be longer!

I absolutely do not feel like a model right now

I hate cold sores.
When I get one on my lip, I get 10 others.
I don't only get them on my lip either, I get them on my nose!
Ouch.
I feel far from pretty when I have them.
I HATE anything touching my face when I have them. Anything as in my hand, my hair, my make up, my clothes...
My face feels really warm, and I feel 100% MISERABLE.
Like I'm a big balloon head filing up with hot air and turning red.
I woke up with one right under my nose. I think I got it there because I have allergies, and the constant blowing caused it to come.
Just in time for the Holiday.
WORST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER.
I wanted to take fun Christmas pictures with Mike, DANG IT!

No pictures for at least two weeks please.
Sincerely,
Me.

We've got exciting news

Well, exciting to us.

If I had it my way, I would travel all the time. All over. Just me and Mike.
When we were dating, we dreamed up our future an it was always the same, both of us traveling the world together, and becoming a Mamma and Daddy.
At the time, Mike worked from home for a company and it was ideal! Mike always told me "I can work from anywhere!" reassuring me that all was honky dory :)
One night, Mike took me out star gazing. We were laying in the field, looking up into the dark sky, and we decided that when we were married, we were going to see the sky from all different places in the world.
His ideal proposal was to take me to Europe, backpack on back kneeling down on worn knee to pop the question. He told me while we were dating that that was how he would ask me. It wasn't exactly like that, but it was still wonderful. Obviously not bad, I said, Yes.
But, Mike has a different job now, for which we are very grateful.  We have bills to pay...that we are not so grateful for, haha. And a beautiful home we are lucky to be living in.
So of course, are dreams have been put on hold. Much to our dismay.

Mike does a very good job at making sure we don't lose sight of our dreams though. As you know, for our anniversary, he told me he tried to take me to Europe, or to the orphanage in Belize, but for the reasons listed above,  the best he was able to do was Canada. And I personally think it was perfect :) We volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, made friends/fun memories, and saw a very gorgeous country.
His family even helped by taking us on a really fun trip last March!
I've also seen him become all cutesy wootsy when passing by the little pickle clothes in the department store.
I too do my best at making sure we don't lose site of our dreams. So great of a job in fact, that I'm sure half of the time Mike is completely annoyed with me.
Worth it though!
So because we cannot travel together and take fun pictures in front of awesome stuff, help feed cute kids in Africa, jump off of rocks near the Koudonsisia Ilands, go Volcano Boarding down Cerro Negro, volunteer a the home in Belize or study abroad....
We are going to help a sweet little someone by sponsoring them for at least a year, and maybe even longer!
I can't wait to share more info with you :)
I am overly excited right now. Have counted all of our pennies (literally) and am so excited to know that all year, this little someone will be happy. Have food, will be attending school, and have something to look forward to. This holiday season will be a good one for us. Knowing that you are doing what you can to help a little love as best as you can, makes you happy.
Please pray along with us for all the beautiful people all over this world. Wherever they are, facing whatever problems they may have.
God loves us all.
Let others see Him through you.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Come back soon for another little love post :)

thank you, michael.

Ridiculous much?

So people are doing "Photoshop Fridays...."
I don't have Photoshop.
So I'm having Microsoft Paint Fridays... or Saturdays... or Sundays... or Mondays... or Tuesdays... or Wednesdays... or Thursdays...

I've seem to have hit that kind of tired and groovy goofy point in the day. It seems I have gone a little too far with this one. Not my best work, but give me a break! I'm making dog pictures, m'kay?
Have a Bitchin' weekend!

IT'S A WESTIEPOO LIFE

being locked up in a white room with nothing but myself seems pretty nice!

Our house is totally trashed ridiculous like right now.
I was in Idaho and recently returned with bags in hand, ready to drop in the living room as soon as I walked in the door.
While I was in Idaho, Mike was home alone.
Mike dropped a grenade on his (borrowed) desk in his office, resulting in an Ouchboombangcrash! Leaving him no choice but to make the living room his new work space.
Seeing as I have only been home 2 days, both of which I have been working, the dishes have been a little too neglected.
Our old home has little closet space, and I have too many clothes.
The laundry room is filled to the ceiling because we have a toy sized washer and dryer.
I did clean up my fabric, but have many more projects to start for the holidays, so out it all has to come again.
Because there is little to no space in the living room now, I have my felt nativity scene laid out on the kitchen table.
I brought the Christmas decorations up stairs, but because I have not picked everything up, I was forced to set the boxes in the kitchen until I put stuff away.
I have a feeling the house won't be clean by the time people from the ward start popping in for surprise visits..
do you think I can put them to work?

Do NOT follow my example.
DO follow the police car however, as they drive me away to the nut house.
You can help them understand that the only reason I wen crazy is because my house was so unorganized!
But I would like to stay there until my house is clean again, so just make sure that happens.
Thanks!

Here is my Christmas list as of right now.
Dear Santa,
I want clothing organizers from Ikea.
I would like you to please find someone willing to come do my laundry.
I want you to send me an elf to come paint everything in my house WHITE.
And also I want you to help me give away everything I have so I can start over fresh and new.

Happy Holidays!
