Oh Breclyn, ye of such great faith.

My sweet sister has an amazing voice and the cutest little boy. They are both singing in church and she asked me if I would accompany them on the violin! She is so sweet :) Am I insane for even considering taking her up on the offer? Yes. Yes I am. I wasn't sure if I should laugh or take her seriously when she called and asked me. Are you sure you didn't mean to say, the ward is holding a really funny not so talented talent show? and that is where you wanted me to play? No of course you didn't mean that, you are too talented to be participating in such foolishness! Well, if I do decide to play, I suggest you all attend. I'm sure it'll be hilarious.
Love you, Brec!

I know it's long, but it's funny

Last night while Mike and I are lying in bed, we start snoring really loudly.
Did you know that there are so many funny ways to snore??
We were totally in sync.
And this is why I love Mike.
Mike “What if we really do that in our sleep, and we don’t know?”
Me “I think I would notice if you did that.”
Mike “I don’t know. I mean, we would be asleep”
..silence..
Mike “What if we do, and when we’re sleeping in Idaho, your mom laughs at us..”
I crack up.
Oh Michael. You say just the right stuff to always keep me laughing.
..a bit later..
Mike starts the snoring again and Moose jumps up on the bed.
Me ” Mike! I don’t want her on the bed!”
Mike “DOWN MOOSE! DOWN!”
“You know you have to wait to jump onto the bed until we are asleep and too tired when we wake up and notice, to push you off!”
Moose get’s down
Mike snores again and Moose jumps onto the bed
Mike “Crap. She’s on to us!”

I kick Moose off of the bed. Not a figure of speech, I use my foot.
We then try to keep snoring while we’re laughing. Which makes us laugh even more and actually snort, which leads to more laughter.

Now by this point we have been laying in bed laughing and snoring, discussing spatulas and big dippers, and laughing at the word melon baller for so long, we could have stayed up just a little bit longer and watched the sun rise.
We can’t stop. Everything we say, any noise we make/hear, any thought we have, makes us laugh so hard. It was like we were little kids at a sleep over that were told to keep quiet!
Probably a good 2 minutes of silence pass and I can’t take it anymore. I don’t mean to, but I let out a loud giggle.
Me “Sorry”
…..
“I just thought of something really funny, but now that I think about it it wasn’t that funny”
What I have just said makes Mike start laughing again.
Me “wait, listen to what I thought”
More laughter
Me “A guy proposes to a girl and she is looking at the ring. It’s gorgeous! She says. To which the guy replies, ain’t no thing but a wedding ring, mamma sita!”

There really is no point in trying.
I love being married to Mike.

But one thing is sure, I would love ya

Dear Michael.
If I were a space ship a hiphiphiphip.
I would take a long trip, ripripripriprip.
I would circle the planets and head for the stars,
and then I'd come home, cause I love ya. Yayayayayayayaya
Cause as long as you're you, I'll still love ya.

You've got to S-M-I- L-E to be H-A double P-Y

I let my thoughts get the best of me last week. I got my hopes up only to have them shot down, so today I’m feeling a little grey.
So to not linger on the disappointment that is today, I’m making a small list of some of the things that I am grateful for.

1. Michael.
He has a deadline on a HUGE project for work, but still found time last week to drive me to Orem to see friends, take me to the mall and talk me in to getting my make up professionally done, take me to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, and tell me how beautiful I am. For working so hard and budgeting out finances so that we are always living comfortably. He is such a hard worker and a wonderful husband. I love him so much and am ever thankful to him and for him.
2. Our Home.
It isn’t free, it may be messy sometimes, it may be old and have broken things, but it keeps us warm and provides shelter. It is a place we have made OUR home. And I am very thankful for it. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful place to call home. We are in a safe neighborhood with nice neighbors in a house we can go into to get warm and out of the snow this winter. I am so bessed.
3. Family and Friends.
This week I will enjoy 3 thanksgivings. I am so lucky to belong to such a wonderful family, to have such wonderful parents and siblings. To enjoy the company of my in laws so much, and to have a best friend. People who love me and worry about me and are always there for me.
4. Food.
I am so thankful for the food in our home. For the healthy body only food could give me. For gardens and the farmer that provide food and for grocery stores and the people who work there to make sure there is always food on the shelves so I will not go hungry.
5. My Father in Heaven
Who has provided me with all of these wonderful blessings and given me such a warm heart to recognize the blessings I have, even when I am feeling upset. He loves me and watches over me, and is always next to me whenever I need him. He has given me the knowledge to understand his teachings and a wonderful church filled with wonderful people.

I am so thankful for the things in my life that I have here, right now.
All things in my life happen for a reason and I know that Heavenly Father gives and takes away according to his plan.
This Thanksgiving I will not only think about what I am thankful for, but what I can give others to be thankful for as well.

I love this season.
Happy winter!

Baby Shoes from Little Lemon!

I was invited to a surprise baby shower last week, and as soon as I found out, I got busy thinking of all the cute things I should make. My friend is having a girl, and so you can imagine all the fun frilly girl things that were going through my head! I decided on what I think was the perfect gift. I don't have a picture of the exact gift I ended up giving, but I had crazy fun making these, and made a lot of them. The more I made, the better I got. I wanted to make a lot to make sure I gave her the best looking ones. I was totally happy with how they turned out. I pinned them to cute card stock, ( made a flower hair bow, picked out a card, bought some bedtime soothing bubble bath and tied them all up with twine and had a sweet little gift all ready to give to the Mommy to be. I don't have a picture of the bundle, but you can imagine. Homemade baby stuff + card + bubble bath + twine. Adorable. I'm making more right now with fuzzy fabric lining the inside to keep babies toesies cozy this winter season. If you would like some, send me an email. *{bryttan dot everett at gmiail dot com}

A good week

First of all, I need some new yarn so I can make some hats. I have so many different styles I want to make, it's killing me!
Second, we may or may not have found ourselves at the cheapest bowling ally 2X in 1 week. Also, bowling shoes are adorable on the outside, but disgusting on the inside. Ewyuckgross.
Third, my brother came to visit us for a few hours. SO fun. We mostly DID scare kids with Betty as they walked home from school. $10.00 mannequin = best purchase ever.
Fourth, I am going to a baby shower tomorrow for a good friend. We haven't seen each other in years but still keep in touch. I love those kinds of friendships :)
Fifth. Michael is the best man in the world. You should all just know that.
And sixth, WE HAVE HEAT. Life is good.
I hope you have an enjoyable week!

Trek

Most of you know I left for Trek on my 15th birthday. We had just moved to Farmington 2 weeks before and had heard mention of Trek in church. I was hesitant, but really wanted to go, so with the help of my Mom and sister, we pulled everything together and off I went. It was the best time of my life. It strengthened my testimony, opened my mind, and was such a physical challenge. The best experience. I will NEVER forget that week of my life. It was so surreal. If you EVER have the chance to go, take it. You will NEVER be the same. I know each person has a different experience, but mine was fantastic. I made great friends and got to experience something I won't ever experience again in my life. I felt so close to Heavenly Father, and had my eyes opened to what the pioneers went through. Here are some pictures my "sister" from Trek took, and also some I stole from the DVD. I remember having a disposable camera at the time, but I don't know what ever happened to it. Thankfully I stayed in touch with her and she sent a few my way. You really have no idea how strengthening this experience was. It was the hardest and happiest moment. I am so grateful I got to go. My life changed so much because of Trek. If you want to learn more about it you can go here:

Just for Blaine

Saturday night we went on a double date with our friends. Dinner and bowling, holler!
It was a lot of fun, thanks guys! Somehow though, Blaine managed to lose our paper that held our place for a table, in a matter of seconds. Next time someone else holds on to it. Blaine lost his privilege.
While we were enjoying our delicious Texas Roadhouse food, YUM, Blaine brings up how often I am changing the blog layout/background. He seems to think this is really hilarious, and spends the next while making fun of me. So today I decided to change it. Thank you for reminding me that it was nearing that time again, Blaine!

We love them. Maybe it is because we have a strange sense of humor. We pull this kind of thing all the time. When we are with friends... at dinner.... singing to the radio. Well hum... maybe we should change? Fit in with society? Nah.

I blame the cold

*

I am blaming the cold for the cleaning that has not been going on here at my house.
Mike and I still don't have heat. We take turns with my brothers tiny space heater he left here.

Seeing as it is the month for expressing what we are thankful for, I am going to say that today, I am really missing our old warm house.

I am thankful for heat. Not having any here has really helped me appreciate how blessed most of us our. Not everyone around the world is as fortunate as me, and as much as I hate my toes having no color, I am glad that I have been able to experience not having the house toasty warm all day.

But now that I have had this eye opening experience,
I would really like some heat in this house!

I want to get in and clean, have a yummy dinner on the table when Mike gets done working, and curl up on the couch together under a blanket to read scriptures, by choice. Not because we will freeze to death if we don't.

But I don't want someone to come clean the air ducts until my house is spotless (I hate a clutterey home!) But I can't clean until I'm warm and I won't be warm until I have heat!

Do you see the problem?

the birds

Michael and I decided to go drive through Arby's on our lunch breaks.
2 cheddar and roast beef sandwiches for $5! Can't beat that.
While we were in our totally broken but very warm car, I forgot that it is November and looked out the window at the park and thought, hey! we should go have a picnic! So, that is what we did.
We drove across the street to the park, turned the car off, got out, and the brisk November wind sent chills up our backs! Even though we were cold, I really wanted to eat outside. We spread the blanket out on the grass and we were enjoying our sandwiches and extra curly curly fries, and the silence and stillness of everything (the park isn't very hoppin' in the middle of the day in November) when a seagull flew down near us. WE DON'T EVEN LIVE BY THE SEA! The said seagull looked at us with its beady little eyes, through its head back and let out a loud screech. Hundreds of birds flew in from various areas of the park. We watched as they got closer, and closer to us. The little balck dots from afar became bigger, quite frightening, demon birds. We continued eating, while keeping one eye on our lunch, and the other on the birds. They crept slowly towards us and then as soon as we looked at them they froze until we took our eyes off of them to take another bite, and then they moved in for the kill again. They were fighting each other, screeching, and before we knew it, even more had flown in, and the pigeons had taken part in this game called death. THE PIGEONS!
It became too creepy to put up with, and we were quite certain that at any second they were all going to dive in and attack us for our food. We carefully gathered up our belongings, and made a run for it back to the car. They followed, swooping down on us and circling the car. No exaggeration. I almost got hit in the face with one of there wings. So back in the car, we watched as the birds flew away. Not far though. They flew up into the trees that happened to be right next to our car. They landed on the telephone wire that hung above the car. They perched on the street lights next to the car, and they were all watching us. Watching us finish our food in the safety of our car. There was one who was determined. I think it was that first one that flew in when we first got to the park, the one with the evil beady eyes. He didn't leave. He followed me to the car, right up to my window. He landed on the ground outside my door, and he stayed there the whole time! We have both seen Alfred Hitchcocks The Birds, so we decided to get out before they started pecking at the windows.
Don't go to the park for a picnic in the middle of November.
No one else is around.
The birds are starving.
It's cold.
and you will be attacked.
