August Bear Lake/Idaho

We have had so much fun seeing family the past three weeks. Quinny has changed so much and I love seeing her grow as much as I hate it! She turned four months while we've been gone and I can't believe it!
She is still just as smiley as ever, and starting to sit up!
She has loved meeting all of her grandpartens and Aunties and Uncles, and her sweet little cousins.

We got sick right after Bear Lake, and it has hung around almost the whole time! So unfortunately we haven't been able to spend as much time with some of the fmaily as we were hoping, but we have still had a fun time.

My parents live right in the path of the Eclipse and we were able to watch it from the front yard. It was the most amazing thing I'll ever see in my life. Tennesy thought it was so fun, as she is pretty fascinated by space. Such an incredible experience. We just wish Daddy could have been there experiencing it with us.

We have spent almost every evening outside on the trampoline and Tennesy has loved playing outside so much, picking apples and making apple sauce with Maga, swinging in the swings, Playing with Papa, and reading books together.

It's always so hard to leave! There's just no place like home.

An update and the beginning of blogging... Again

I haven't sat down and written an actual blog post in over a year! My goal is to start it up again and stick to it. (I will be posting over on the new blog, and working on making it look better) I have recently decided this would be a good idea, because there are so many scary and exciting changes happening over here in Kramerville, so I am going to quickly fill ya'll in.
Mike had a series of difficult interviews and at the end of them all, he landed the job! I am so very proud of him and am amazed by him every single day. He is so incredible, and brave.

So while we are all very excited for this new job opportunity, we are also a little sad, because we will be moving all the way to California! We are excited, but it's a little hard to pick up and move. They want him to start very soon, on July 21st! So we have a lot to get done in only a few weeks. This includes finding somewhere to live! I am packing and sorting while Mike finishes his weeks at his current job, and then we are out of here! It's all happening so fast!!

On top of the move, I am trying to find new doctors, and plan my birth and the arrival of our sweet baby, GIRL! It's true, I'M PREGNANT!
We are over the moon excited over here. She is very healthy and apparently she is very squished. I'm not sure if that means she is going to be tall like her daddy, or if I'm just too small for her to be comfortable, lol! But I can't stop looking at her sweet ultrasound picture. She is perfect and we love her already.

We have been enjoying the summer as we do best, by camping and spending time together and with friends. We will miss going up the Canyon on the weekends, but I'm sure we'll find a new spot to explore near our new home in California.

We went to Moon Lake this last weekend and it was beautiful! This weekend we will be at a family reunion, and then two weeks after that, we will be in California, ready or not!

I had a fun birthday weekend, and got a new birthday present from Kramer, that is going to be even better in California! He didn't know we would be moving there when he bought it for me, and it made us laugh. He got really sick the day before my birthday though, bummer! We were going to go up to Idaho that day because it was also Father's Day! We didn't make it up there, but we still had a lot of fun here!

Anyway, there is the update! All the important things at least. I may not blog a lot in the next few weeks, as I am going to be very busy apartment hunting and packing. But as soon as I can, I will sit down and update everyone on what is happening. And maybe it'll be from a real computer and not my phone!  Hopefully this will be a good way to keep family up to date on our lives in California and a way for me to document the things that are happening in our little family.  We are going to miss everyone so much! So you all better come visit us!!!

just a quick update

After a few different conversations with friends and family, I realized I was a little behind on Christmas clean up. I decided I better not leave the tree up until July, so down it came today. Packed away with all the other Christmas goodies, until next year.

It's nice to have Christmas cleaned up, so I can start decorating for real again. I have been having the most difficult time decorating this house! It's going to be the death of me.
With the tree gone, I had an empty corner, housing a mess of cords that desperately needed to be hidden. I rearranged the furniture too many times, and finally settled on an old chair I pulled from the porch. I draped a blanket over it, and am really liking the way it looks. I've been playing around with some different things to pair with it. I really like how the pennant banner looks with it though. We'll see if it stays.
We had such a busy Christmas holiday, with friends and family. So much fun, but nice to be home at least for a little while. I leave for Idaho tomorrow (if the snow stops falling) and will be picking up our nephew. He's going to be staying with us for a while :)

My face is taking it's dear sweet time recovering, ugh, but recovering it is! What a long process this has been. I can't wait for it all to be over.

I'll post again (hopefully) soon. It seems that even though I'm home all day, I still seem to stay busy. Plus I wasn't really posting because it's silly to, where I don't have a million followers, and I'm writing in an actual journal, right? wrong. Because I don't keep a journal as well as I was keeping a blog, and I realized it doesn't matter how many followers I have if i'm using it more as a journal anyway. If someone finds our blog and really wants to read it, then read it they may. If not? Well at least I'll have stuff on record.

Happy new year!

life lately

There are lights on only half of the tree, the box of ornaments is taking up one of our chairs, and there is a pile of stuff sitting in the same place it was sitting in two days ago. Somehow I still have dishes in my sink, and our dumb dog is lying on the floor chewing on one of the 4 collars she has managed to break through this week. I had half of my neighborhood out helping me find her the other day. I don't know how she does it. I put her out and when I go to let her back in, I find her chain stretched as far as it will go, and her collar sitting at the end of it. But we are happy. Mike came home with some wood frames and paint, the other night. We rolled out some paper, and set to work painting new decorations for our living room wall. I love that boy. Between getting over a cold, and a whole bunch of work, he still finds time to be with me.

So this is our life lately. Messy, unorganized, and full of surprises.
And we love it.

Neglected

I was going to post an artistic photo of something, that left you thinking about my title of this post on my poor neglected blog. Instead I am posting this picture, because this is what I found when I typed in Neglected on Pinterest. And it is just too funny to me.
Enjoy

That moment when...

So for fun, I quickly made these this morning and thought I would share!

A little Brytt and Mike trivia for you. Mike and I turned on A Goofy Movie at his house for our second date and sang along to every song. we realized then, that we would be perfect friends.
I try not to talk too much about politics with friends, especially if I know we disagree. I don't think it is worth losing a friendship over. But I am an American, and I do have the freedom of speech when I choose, and I am thankful for that.
Apparently this is how I demonstrate it, lol. Enjoy.

Been a while?

We have had such a fun and busy fall! So many pictures to post, but too much cleaning and working to do today to play catch up. So for now I leave you with this conversation Michael and I had today.
me: Be on a look out for retro floor lamps
 Michael: okay

 me: :)
Michael: There are none immediately around my area should I be worried?
 Are they on the offensive?
me: Just a little worried. Be careful out there
Michael: Will do Over and out

me: If they turn on when they approach, don't look at the light!
Whatever you do. DON'T LOOK AT THE LIGHT
 Michael: I'm scared
They didn't teach us this back at basic
I'm losing it
 me: Hold it together, man
 Michael: I'll try

Me: I like these ones (insert link here)
Michael: Those are table lamps not floor lamps
 me: I know that
Michael: You said to be on the lookout for floor lamps
me: Yes I did
Michael: If desk lamps are in the mix too
I'm afraid this war is lost

me: Don;t speak like that! We still have a fighting chance
Michael: There is a desk lamp for every man woman and child on earth,
we stand NO chance
me: But they are small and weak
Michael: It depends on the wattage
last I heard, the majority were still on 75
 me: Blast!
 Michael: Exactly

Are you my blender lender?

So my surgery is in only 13 days. I know. So crazy. As I will be down for a long time post surgery, there is so much I am trying to get done! I will be eating through a syringe for hopefully only a month to 2 months #crossmyfingers So I am hunting for a really good blender. I have been told to get a Vitamix But those are way too pricey. I know "you get what you pay for" but I can't pay for that, lol. So the question is, does anyone know of a pretty good blender that isn't quite as much money as the Vitamix? Or have a vitamix they would let me borrow before the surgery and I'll pre make as much of the food as I can?? I'll clean your car and your whole house for a year :) Anyone?

This is really happening

So my computer is still down, and it makes blogging and other internet activity not as enjoyable. Luckily my sweet mamma and papio gave me a little keyboard that plugs in to my ipad, so I can type. But everything is tiny and half of the pages don't load, lol. Like this one. I have tried not to talk to people much about my surgery. (excpet Mike, of course. He's heared a lot of surgery talk, poor guy) Before, like when I first started down this road of brackets and chains and wires, oh my! The surgery seemed like it was never going to happen. After a long time of thinking it was something that would never happen, we started talking about it, and I was really excited! Then we met with the surgeon and I was really happy. There was actually a light at the end of this six year long tunnel! Now it seems to be approaching much faster than I would like it to. As the days get closer and closer I get more and more scared. I'm realizing that this is really happening, and it isn't someing "in the future" or something that "might happen" It's happening, and right now! less than 3 weeks away, and I can't stop the butterflies from fluttering around in my stomach. So many things so be excitied, and completely scared about. As I am posting this, I'm listening to Pandora and Ingrid Michaelsons song, Keep Breathing, is playing. I guess that's what I'll do, "just keep breathing" There are much worse things, but unfortunately knowing that, doesn't make me any less nervous. Keeping my fingers crossed for a carefree 2 weeks, and a quick recovery.

Spring cleaning

My computer is still down, so I'm still just using the iPad. Hence the reason I haven't updated the blog in a long while. I don't know if it's the fact that Fall is slowly sneaking in, or what, but I am in total "Spring cleaning" mode. I have so many projects I want to start/finish =, and a house I want to revamp. I also feel like this blog needs some serious help. A clean fresh look. Agreed? There is so much I want to get done before the sugery, which reminds me, in the middle of changing the blog, I'm hoping to put in a link to another blog, full of all the info you need if getting reconstructive jaw surgery. I've been in touch with some fellow bloggers who have had, or are getting, jaw surgery. Their blogs have been so good to read, so I have been inspired to keep one as well. Hopefully if there is someone out there who is super nervous and looking for some answers, they will stumble across my blog, and I'll be able to answer some of their questions. I love the Fall so much. It is definitely, hands down, my favorite season. And even though the weathe hasn't dropped too much, the leaves are still changing, and the smell of Autumn and pumkin spice is in the air. Mike and I were on a walk the other evening, and he turned to me and asked, "You smell that?" I shook my head, and he told me it was the smell of Pumkins, and Fall. We sat down on the grass together, and smelled the new season, while the crisp air slowly turned our noses pink. I love that seasons have distinct smells. Each smell brings with it a unique memory from times past. It's so beautiful out right now. It makes me want to make stew, and wear cozy sweaters and cute cardis. The weather just needs to be a little chillier for that. The problem is, when the weather drops, it seems to always bring winter. And I don't like Winter as much.

Iceland

I think I was around 11 or 12 when I developed an interest in Iceland.
My dad and I were having so much fun one night, while I was rambling on about it's beauty. He promised that we would go together one day, and even though it seems incredibly unlikely to happen, I still hold on to that.

I was wondering why I even liked the place so much..
but then I remembered.

Blogging and Sherlock

Found this funny saying this morning, and had to turn it into a picture. I know this girl isn't sitting at a computer blogging. But I liked the pic.
Also, if you haven't been watching the new Sherlock Holmes T.V. series, DO IT NOW!
I'm obsessed. And they just got the second season on Netflix!
Hope you have an enjoyable Monday!

Oh this living room

I love decorating our houses. Every time we move in to a new place, I look forward to the decorating. I plan, and plan, and plan! in advence. Everything has a place, and it's wonderful. When you walk in the front door, you feel at home. In fact, I had so many ideas on how to arrange the furniture, and where to hang pictures, that it would changed so often. It was fun! But this place is different, and it bugs me. I love this house! But this living room is a killer. I have moved furniture around like a mad woman. I have hung some pictures up, and hidden others away, and then pulled them back out, and then packed them away again. I have changed the throw pillows and blankets so many times, I'm going to wear holes in them. I have frames and mirrors sitting on the floor, leaning against baseboards, waiting for there places to be found. I don't know why I can't make our things work here! I am blaming the television placement for lack of anything else to blame. The T.V. can't be moved. It's stuck, and it is stuck in quite an inconvenient place. I need some serious help. I don't know what's happening! I feel like I'm in Alice's Wonderland. Things are not fitting together, furniture looks oddly out of place, and I'm pretty sure the room is going to flip upside down soon! But perhaps that is just what it needs.

Baby

My eldest sister had her seventh baby on 09/01/12

My mom and I have been there for, or right after, every one of her births. She brings her sweet children into this world, in her home. In to their home. With all of their brothers and sisters loving them, from the moment they arrive.
These children are special. They have many scars, eyes that have seen too much sad, and ears that have heard too many unkind words. But their hearts are huge. They stick together, and they love each other.
Here are a few pictures I snapped, soon after baby girl number four was born. I love these kids with all of my heart. I pray for them. That they will have strength to defend themselves against the adversary. I pray that they will have knowledge of right and wrong. That they will be strong individuals, that they will not be followers, and that they will always know, that they are children of a loving Heavenly Father.
